So today KIN Raiders downed Madness of Deathwing and I would like to say much congratulations to them as they came out of nowhere with the 7/8 and then swiftly closed the door on progression for this expansion.
I’m excited for them. Would they have achieved WF without the bans? Who knows.. But they clearly showed they are capable to be a strong raiding force going into Mists of Pandaria. It’s easy to question whether the content is too easy or not hard enough. Many players have this mental thought pattern of “If Paragon kill’s it first it’s hard, someone else kills it, it must be easy” it’s simply wow human nature but I don’t feel that’s the case at all. I would’ve predicted Method would take or almost take the top stop myself so we were thrown a good twist at the close of Cataclysm progression.
In a few weeks or a month or so I’ll make my own personal picks for the best encounters in Cataclysm but so far from what I have seen there is somewhat of a basic nature to the fights in Dragon Soul. There were more fights that consisted of individual game play and decision making, as well as strategy and team work. Though we have that aspect in Dragon Soul it’s much more basic just from my point of view. Either you do the encounter in said way or you simply don’t kill it as easy as you should, is the feel I get within Dragon Soul. A lot of straight healing and damage checks while clicking 1 single button every so often. On a lighter note Deathwing feels like a more enjoyable fight than Ragnaros did, I may have to take it back when I do get to heroic Deathwing but so far just in normal mode comparisons, the Ragnaros encounter feels more, challenging. But again, just my general opinion… for the moment anyway.
Picking my favorite encounters of Cataclysm should be interesting but for now I want to give a major congratulations to KIN Raiders of Korea.
